Material Behaviour Matters
Dimensional changes can occur as fabric or garments relax during processing and laundering. Fabric construction and finishing influence the outcome; a percentage should not be assumed from a photograph.
Agree the Measurement Condition
Specify whether dimensions refer to the garment before or after the agreed finish, and use a consistent measurement method. Review the same points of measure when comparing sample versions.
Check More Than Colour
Compare appearance, handfeel, proportions and seam behaviour. Changes in fabric and thread behaviour or sewing conditions can contribute to puckering. Investigate the cause before changing the pattern alone.
Record the Reference
Identify the material, finish and sample version used for review. Set tolerances and testing requirements for the order rather than copying a universal value.
Scope & Sources
Technical background is based on the sources below. The checklist is general guidance; it is not a test report or a statement that a particular KG sample passed testing.
